Messin' Around

The neighbor kids brought over silly string for our kids to play with so of course Travis took them into the back alley to attack each other.
Mousetrap! This is the best game EVER! I know this picture is way out of focus but it's so funny! Maizie wanted me to take a picture of her in her full on princess regalia and Beau came up next to her and said, "I'll be your prince." Then he smooched her! How cute is that, I mean really, it's stinkin' cute.

Oh the Joy!!!

We all had an awesome Christmas together. Although it was the only Christmas we've ever had without our parents and all the extended family, it proved to be special and fabulous. We opened presents on Christmas morning and then made a delicious roast "beast" for dinner.

Jack made this reindeer helmet at school! So cute!

Alejandro (Beau's BFF), Beau, & Jack at Beau's preschool musical. Me & B-dog making Christmas cookies on Christmas eve. He was the only one interested in helping with the mixing of the dough. I made it well worth his time! Christmas morning!! Reading the Christmas story! We're excitedly watching as you can see!
Beau loves his new race track!
Jack opening one of his gifts.
Maizie trying to find her name on a package. I'm sure she found one. The pile of grandparents' spoilage (if that's a word).
Uncle John, John's brother Mino, and the boys can't separate themselves from the beloved race track. Beau suckered Mino into putting it together after we ate dinner. Maizie found a willing client in John's mom for her to experiment with her new beauty supplies.
Now there's still some cleaning up to do! We hope all of you had a very merry christmas too!

3 SAG VOUCHERS!

Hey all!! Great news! Last week Travis got his 3rd SAG (Screen Actors Guild) voucher that he needed!! Woohooo!! Travis can now become a member of SAG. This will help him to get an agent which will in turn help him to get work. We are in awe of how God has totally made this work out. On the set of Nip Tuck Travis talked with the other actors and it is almost unheard of for an actor to get all three vouchers on the same show and for three consecutive appearances. So, this is just what we needed to get our spirits up and to be reminded that God is in charge not us.

Fun Stuff for Travis

Hey! Some already know but I thought I'd pass on a little update of Travis' progress in his acting pursuits. Well, to get into the Screen Actors Guild you need either a speaking part on a tv/film/commercial program or you need 3 vouchers from non speaking roles. Last week Travis got his first 2 vouchers (which are super hard to get and it's freakin awesome)!! He was on Nip Tuck that airs on the FX channel. He was a security guard with no lines but you'll see him on the show. We'll let everyone know when it airs so you can check it out! Travis' friend knew one of the directors so that's how Travis got the gig in the first place. Usually you have to go through an agency ... Praise the Lord! 2 down and 1 to go (or a speaking part!) then he can become a SAG member! Yey!

Christmas Parade & Tree Decorating!

Tons of Pictures!!! We went to the Christmas Parade in Belmont Shore which is just downtown and it was packed!

Travis & his best buddy iphone.

The Queen Mary float was cool. It was spouting fog. Trav & Beau among the masses Jack, Maizie & me!
We didn't get to cut down our tree this year so it wasn't the normal "Charlie Brown" variety that we're used to. The tree was so full and we had a great time decorating.
Maizie actually got to participate in hanging ornaments this year which was very cool. She got so excited to help. If only I could get that kind of excitement about picking up toys.
Travis does the angel.
So lovely!
Looking kind of angelic.
Relaxing after all that hard work! Some of those ornaments are so heavy!
Is Christmas here yet??!!

A Day off for MOM!

A couple of weeks ago my neighbor Dania decided that I needed a vacation. I couldn't disagree with that! So, she took me on a great drive up to Santa Barbara. We drove up the coast the entire way and it was beautiful!!
This is a beach in Malibu. We ate brunch at a little seafood shop right off the beach and watched the surfers. Dania and I are trying not to fall off this fence during our lovely photo shoot. She climbed out onto this super high platform to do this lovely pose and while she was doing it her flip flop fell down onto the rocks. I'm pretty sure it died.
This is an orchid that Dania bought for me. I thought it was so beautiful. It is a catalea and I haven't killed it yet.
This is in one of the orchid shops. I thought it was so beautiful. I have never seen anything so beautiful in my life. You definitely don't get this in Colorado unless you have a climate controlled greenhouse! It inspires me not to kill so many plants. I have to thank Travis for without him no vacation day would be possible. He's swell. and hot.

Christmas Season??

ummm... apparently it is Christmas season here and everybody is talking like it is. However, there is no snow and it is not even cold. People are wearing scarves & hats maybe to convince themselves that it is Christmas season but they are not fooling me. This is gonna take some getting used to.

Must I remind them what my children were doing just last weekend?

Thanksgiving Weekend Pics

We had a great time at Disneyland with my mom & dad. This was the first time Maizie or my dad have ever been and they had a great time. It was definitely magical!! This picture cracks me up because all the kids are pooped. Fuzzy Castle

The boys at the Astro Blaster ride, I think that's what it's called.

Grammy & the kids in front of the poinsettias! They were so gorgeous!!

Grammy & Grandpa doing grammy & grandpa things.

Beau asleep in the car. Jack in an unusually great mood. See what the happiest place on earth can do!
Maizie is a rockstar.
Grammy & the kids on Belmont Shore. The kids will play in the water no matter how cold it is.

My dad being a beach bum. They had a great time with us and we were sad to see them go. Our first houseguests!! It was awesome to be see some familliar faces after 4 months. We look forward to the next time we get to be with family.

Maizie is 3!!

Maizie turned 3 years old on Thanksgiving Day!! She was so fortunate to have her grandparents here to join her on her special day. It was a little crazy & hectic but I know she felt special. I thought I would keep with what I did with Jack's birthday by telling you about this Maizie-girl (as we like to call her). She loves her blankie & her best buddy Pico (who tolerates her abuse). Maizie is definitely the girl. She is under the impression that she is a princess under a tyrannical rule. Whenever she is told "no" and is ok with it she just smirks and says, "not again" but when she is not ok with the "no" we get a psycho possessed child complete with foaming at the mouth. Underneath this facade of crazy we get a girl that loves to cuddle and be lovey. She is the child that always prefers her mommy and wants to be hugged and smooched all the time. Maizie loves to dance. Whenever she hears music she gets up from whatever she is doing just so she can shake it. Today Maizie has changed her name to Cinderella and now refers to me as "fairy God-lover". Whenever she sees you chewing something or thinks you've been eating she asks, "What do you taste like?" She's awesome.

Camping in Trabuco Canyon

We decided to join Jack & Beau's AWANA group for their annual Family Camp weekend in Trabuco Canyon which is in Orange County. We were roughin' it in our tent. This was the first time we've camped with all three children and they had a blast! Even Pico! Beau whittled himself a spear. He kept calling it a "spirit". I'm not sure it was the best idea that Travis has ever had. Jack met a new BFF named Cooper. Maizie couldn't say his name right, she kept saying, "Hey Goober!" It was funny. These guys were inseparable. I don't think we saw Jack all weekend. Beau climbing a tree! To Maizie camping is just walking around with a backpack on & eating marshmallows. Well what do you know - CA does have some fall colors! It's no Colorado but it does look pretty. I can't get this guy to take a picture - it's ridiculous. Daddy & Maizie are getting ready to go! Do you think the kids are ready to go home?
