Camping in Trabuco Canyon

We decided to join Jack & Beau's AWANA group for their annual Family Camp weekend in Trabuco Canyon which is in Orange County. We were roughin' it in our tent. This was the first time we've camped with all three children and they had a blast! Even Pico! Beau whittled himself a spear. He kept calling it a "spirit". I'm not sure it was the best idea that Travis has ever had. Jack met a new BFF named Cooper. Maizie couldn't say his name right, she kept saying, "Hey Goober!" It was funny. These guys were inseparable. I don't think we saw Jack all weekend. Beau climbing a tree! To Maizie camping is just walking around with a backpack on & eating marshmallows. Well what do you know - CA does have some fall colors! It's no Colorado but it does look pretty. I can't get this guy to take a picture - it's ridiculous. Daddy & Maizie are getting ready to go! Do you think the kids are ready to go home?

Jack's 6 years old!!

Jack turned 6 years old yesterday if you can believe it!! I'll tell you a bit about him. Jack's an interesting fellow because he wants to be really tough and serious but he is very sensitive. He cries everytime he watches Air Bud or Snow Dogs because he hates it when the animals get sad or hurt. Jack loves playing cars. He will play cars every single day for hours if you let him. When he gets really excited he moves his hands really fast and hops on one foot - a little wierd I know. Jack thinks it's the funniest thing to call his friends "little girl" when he's running on the playground with them. (Apparently that is a huge burn.) Jack is a very loving boy who seeks to be helpful all the time. I'll sum Jack up with this one statement that he said in the car a couple of days ago. He saw some lightning (which hardly ever happens here) and he said, " Mom, Dad!! I think I just saw God's power!"
