I think the idea of blogging is to journal more than once a month or two because then you don't have to cram it in one post. But because of my awesome ability to put things off, there is this one post that encompasses about a month or more of life. Yes...
We are a reading family mainly because the library is free but also because I like to read therefore everyone will read. Beau loves to read to Theo (a captive audience) and reads him everything including this Black Lagoon book with no real pictures in it.
Jack's baseball season is finally over which is great..er I mean sad. He really loves playing baseball even though their team won only one game all season. He may just be in it for the snack afterwards.
Beau's 1st grade class did a special concert for the parents which was adorable. Beau takes singing very seriously, it's quite endearing.
The end of AWANA for the year!! Maizie graduated from Cubbies! She is no longer a preschool girl, which we'll get to later.
And Jack got his award for completing all the Sparks books and is now graduating to the TNT class!! He's learning so much and looks forward to AWANA every Wednesday! Beau did a good job in Sparks too and has one more year of it. Unfortunately no pics of his success because he was having attitude, which I'm sure no one else experiences but us!
Maizie's preschool did a concert too! She's on the left in the front row - super cute!!
6 months old! We're saving this pics to show to his girlfriend someday.
Maizie & her BFF graduating preschool! We have a kindergartener now! She was adorable in her cap & gown and soaked up every bit of the attention and excitement.

:'( tears are literally falling from my eyes....which is weird since these pictures were all so adorable. I'm crying because I hate that we're so far apart still. I was hoping that UT would be easy to travel from, but the 10 hr drive is still harder than I thought to fit in somewhere. I love seeing how your boys are so fun, and smart and Maizie too....not to mention just gorgeous, she's got such a sparkle, Katie. I miss you and I really wish our kids could be like us when we were growing up. We'll get out there soon, well as soon as we can :) John flies out to Oakland this evening, but only for a day. Love you, miss you and "all that jazz" :D
Oh, you are so sweet Nita! I know, I was just lamenting over this same fact - that our kids are so far apart and barely going to know each other! I loved being able to go to your house all the time as kids and pretending to fall asleep so my parents would let me stay the night! I hope an opportunity comes for us to see each other soon! Love you & miss you tons too!!
look how much fun you guys are having! So cute! Love Beau's longer 'do, which reminds me of a perfect cross between you & Trav! The pic of Maizie in her cap & gown, gasp!, How adorable! You're gonna be crying your eyes out for real when she's all grown up and graduating for real! What a cutie! Hard to believe you've had a baby, who's already sitting up, all since you've been gone! Crazy! What a fun & exciting family you have! love ya!
Thanks Jenn! Yeah I think I've talked Beau into getting a bit of a trim but he said he wants to grow it out real long so he can wear it in a braid like the Samoan guys he's seen here. Silly guy! And I'm not sure how exciting we actually are, but when you see it in a nice photo montage it definitely seems exciting! I bet you could never imagine your kids as teenagers - and now you HAVE ONE!!
